Zijian Khor

Mr Zijian Khor is currently a Senior Assistant Director with Singapore’s National Environment Agency.

Zijian has been in the climate change sustainability and environmental field for close to a decade, overseeing portfolios in corporate, policy and operations across both the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment (MSE), and the National Environment Agency (NEA) in Singapore.

In his time at the Ministry, Zijian was in charge of Climate Science and Adaptation work as part of the Energy and Climate Policy Division, and was deeply involved in Singapore’s work at the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), climate science research, coastal protection and heat resilience.

At NEA, Zijian helmed the Planning team in the Sustainability Division, managing Singapore’s carbon budget for the Waste Sector, and long-term planning for Singapore’s waste infrastructure, including Semakau Landfill. He has also overseen the implementation of Pneumatic Waste Systems and design compliance for waste systems in Singapore, the setting up of Business Intelligence functions and implemented business process reviews in NEA with applied lean and six sigma.

He is currently with the Operations Transformation Division, overseeing strategic reviews of Waste  Management operations and Public Cleanliness in NEA.

Outside of work, Zijian is a co-founding member of Build Our World, where we transform geopolitical analysis into actionable intelligence for businesses to thrive in an increasingly complex world. Zijian is also a keen enthusiast of Web3, Decentralised Autonomous Organisations (DAOs) and NFTs.
