Giuseppe Schlitzer
Giuseppe Schlitzer is currently Director of Supervisory and Financial Information Authority of the Holy See and teaches ‘Financial Globalization’ at the European University of Rome.
As an Economist he has served in several institutions, including the Bank of Italy, the Confederation of Italian Industry (Confindustria), and the International Monetary Fund in Washington D.C., where he was a member of the Executive Board. From January 2011 to June 2018, he was Chief Executive of the Italian Association of Cement Manufacturers, and in 2019 an Adviser to the Secretary of State for the Budget and Finances of the Republic of San Marino.
A Grand Officer of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, he is as well Deputy Vice President of the Institut International Jacques Maritain of Rome, a Honorary Member of the Pontificia Academia Mariana Internationalis, and Member of the Governing Board of the Center for ‘Markets Culture and Ethics’ at the Pontificia Università della Santa Croce.
He holds degrees in Economics from Università Federico II (Naples, Italy), the University of Chicago (M.A.) and the George Washington University (M.Phil.).
