Mr. Phil Midland is President, IHS International LLC, a U.S. company with offices in Arlington, Virginia. He is President of Strategic Renaissance 21 (SR21), a strategic advisory non-profit group led by prominent American business, education, non-profit, and public service experienced leaders assembled for a comprehensive and multi-faceted approach to long term strategy, with key entities in the Pacific Region to build new intercultural dialogue that will be sustained with compelling business, organizational and government engagement.
He served in the U.S. Navy for 22 years, retiring with the rank of Captain, and has had significant China and Japan in-country experience since 1975.
Mr. Midland supported Mr. Andrew Marshall, Director Office of the Secretary of Defense, Office of Net Assessment (OSD/NA) for almost two decades regarding political and infrastructure assessments concerning China and East Asia.
